Edlyn Foods chooses Sauven Hi-Resolution Inkjet

EDLYN Foods were driven to source a new printing solution to provide product identification due to the failing quality and intensive maintenance required to keep their previous inkjet coder operational.

Edlyn is one of the fast moving innovative players in the manufacture of liquid and powered food products for the catering industry. They needed to come up with an effective yet affordable solution that would have to deliver high definition printing, as well as being able to prove its usefulness with the growth and needs of the business.

Unimark Identification Services were doing equipment trails elsewhere in the plant when the opportunity to improve print quality on Edlyn's outer cartons was identified.

Edlyn was clear about what they wanted - it had be hassle free, easy for the operators to use and be extremely reliable.

Unimark suggested the new Sauven Hi Resolution inkjet printer - which is extremely compact, can print onto primary products as well as cartons, can print characters from 3mm to l7mm high and includes a variety of inks.

Edlyn was impressed with the results of the trial in terms of the high legibility of print as well as the simple operation.

Edlyn now have a range of equipment from Unimark including the Smartdate Thermal Transfer Printer for their vertical form fill line, Loveshaw Microjets for other carton printing and the Sauven's for high resolution printing.

As with any new partnership, Edlyn needed to have support, training and a program for the supply of consumables, Unimark were able to respond to Edlyn's needs.

According to Edlyn, Unimark provided plenty of support and training for various staff. They were even able to help Edlyn in the initial set up stages with immediate supply of consumables where additional production had stretched their stock of coding ink.
