A second set of Ultrahawke truck scales was recently commissioned at P&O Ports’ Dynon Road rail terminal in Melbourne. Both truck scales are now being used for weighing trucks delivering shipping containers into the facility for shipping via rail.

This most recent truck scale installation has an oversize concrete weighing deck measuring thirty four metres long by three and a half metres wide, and is used for weighing trucks carrying loaded shipping containers into the facility.

The weighbridge deck is supported on ten heavy duty Flintec load cells manufactured in full stainless steel and rated to IP68 for extreme durability in harsh operating conditions.

To ensure a stable base for the weighbridge in the poor soil conditions, twenty piles were driven up to fifteen metres deep to achieve a stable footing. The foundation of the weighbridge was also suitably reinforced to ensure accurate weight readings would be maintained over an extended period.

Ultrahawke has over one hundred and fifty years of experience manufacturing, installing and servicing scales and heavy duty weighing equipment. Turnkey truck scale installations are available in all Australian states through Ultrahawke’s network of loyal sales/service agents.
