A quad-deck weighbridge for weighing all axle groups on B Double trucks is currently being manufactured by Ultrahawke for CMA Metals’ Perth operations. CMA Corporation Ltd is an integrated Australian-based metal recycling group with operations in the sourcing, supply, processing, smelting and exporting of scrap metal.
The quad-deck weighbridge will speed up weighing transactions by determining the individual axle group weights of B Double trucks and also the total vehicle weight in a single weighing operation. Although a vehicle may be under the legal total weight, if the load is not positioned correctly, it is possible for individual axle groups to be overweight. It results in the driver and the transport company being fined for exceeding vehicle axle loadings.
CMA’s weighbridge will be an above ground installation. The total capacity of the weighbridge will be 110 tonnes using sixteen high quality Flintec weighbridge loadcells. Four Rinstrum R5000 digital weight indicators will be used to display the weights from the individual weighbridge decks and a R6700 summing indicator will display the total weighbridge weight. All five indicators will be housed in a glass fronted enclosure.
The weighbridge foundations will be handled by Ultrahawke’s long term contractor,
