A truck weighbridge is currently being installed for a feed blending operation starting up in country Victoria. Supplied by Ultrahawke Weighbridges in Melbourne, the truck weighbridge measures twenty eight metres long and is suited to weighing trucks up to and including B-Doubles.
This weighing application required trucks and trailers to be loaded with feeds from overhead while positioned on the weighbridge. The feed is delivered from separate storage silos using an automated delivery system with the trucks filled with the required weight of products using the Weighbridge as the weight reference.
Currently an operator manually controls the filling operations while watching the truck’s weight readings as shown on a large digit remote display. To allow for automatic feeder operation in future, the truck weighbridge was fitted with a batching controller rather than a standard digital weight indicator.
The batching controller will allow setpoint targets to be assigned for each material and the truck will be filled without the need for constant attention by the operator.
A tally roll printer was also supplied to store hardcopies of all weighing transactions. As well as ensuring the correct weight of individual feeds are delivered, the weighbridge also ensures trucks are not overloaded before exiting the facility and onto public roads.
