Ultrahawke Scales and Systems recently installed multi-deck weighbridges to ensure trucks leaving Total Transport’s facility at Mt Derrimut can be fully loaded without the risk of incurring heavy fines for overloaded axle groups.
Ultrahawke’s multi-deck weighbridges comprise four individual weighbridge decks custom manufactured to suit current axle group spacings to allow all axle group weights to be readily identified during a single vehicle weighing. The individual weighbridge decks measure 4m + 6m + 8m + 10m for an overall multi-deck weighbridge length of 28 metres by 3.5 metre wide with a total weighing capacity of 120,000kg.
Each weighbridge deck is a stand alone weighing device supported by four stainless steel Flintec RC3 loadcells connected to a Rinstrum 5000 digital weight indicator mounted in the weighbridge office. The four indicators are linked a Ranger 6700 summing indicator to display the total combined weight of all weighbridge decks.
To enable the truck drivers to also see the individual axle group weights and the total overall weight, there are five high visibility remote displays positioned in the driver’s line of sight.
