Trimble Australia , today, announced the new Trimble MEP layout solution for mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades by which contractors can take even more control of their construction layouts.
Contractors are dealing with increasingly complex designs and demanding schedules. Using Trimble MEP, contractors can take a digital CAD design file or 3D Building Information Model (BIM) into the field to simplify the layout of conduit, pipe, duct and cable trays. This increases productivity by reducing rework by facilitating faster, easier and more accurate layouts.
The Trimble MEP layout solution is used with the Trimble SPS610 Robotic Total Station to provide precise positioning of the job site. Trimble MEP enables a person to handle layout on the floor, wall, top of the deck or directly on the underside of the deck.
Pat Bohle, Trimble’s building construction business area manager says, “Trimble MEP with the SPS610 allows the contractor to use the digital design data in the field for the accurate placement of materials. Using Trimble MEP, contractors can increase productivity and accuracy to improve their layout processes.”
Bringing Trimble’s Connected Site construction solutions to the mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades, the Trimble MEP features real-time transfer of design data and daily progress updates using wireless communications between the office and field, minimising the time spent traveling to and from the job site.
