Radio for robotic total stations

Supplier News

Trimble has released the GeoRadio 2.4GHz for surveying applications using robotic total stations.

By using the globally available 2.4GHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) devices band, the GeoRadio eliminates the need for licensing.

Rather than using a fixed channel, the radio’s spread spectrum technology enables signals to hop over a wide range of frequencies. The sending and receiving radios change frequencies in unison, creating reliable communications over a spread of frequencies and reducing the vulnerability to interference, jamming, and multipath fading. The Trimble GeoRadio 2.4GHz uses the frequency range from 2401MHz to 2470MHz.

The system also provides a long-range radio link that reaches up to 1200m.
