Treotham introduces a new space-saving PUR spindle cable from igus developed specifically for flexible operation in energy chains used in machine tools.
The CF270.UL.D single-core bending resistant conductor cable, made of fine strands is a space-saving alternative to the usual space-consuming four-wire servo cables used in such applications.
As spindle drives get larger and more efficient in machining centres and machine tools, larger conductor cross sections are required to guide such higher energy streams. Consequently, the servo cables are becoming thicker, extending the radius of the energy chain beyond the permissible space of the machine tool.
The shielded single core cable from igus has been designed as a spindle cable in a thinner form, making it suitable for use in an energy chain with a small radius to a machine tool.
To meet the requirements for energy chains, the outer jacket is made of an adhesion-poor PUR material making it oil-resistant, notch-resistant as well as halogen-free and also usable in deep-temperature applications.
The CF270.UL.D spindle cables are available in six different conductor nominal cross sections, outside diameters and copper numbers.
