GERMAN company igus has released, through its Australian distributor Treotham Trading , the CF14 highly flexible Ethernet bus cable for industrial use in energy supply systems.
Providing connection with transfer rates up to 100Mbit/s between the moving machine parts and the control system, this PVC-free and halogen-free cable, which possesses a fine wave impedance of 100Ω, has been manufactured and tested for a minimum bending radius in energy conduction systems of 12.5 x cable diameter.
Tests carried out at the igus research centre in Germany show that even after more than 1.4 double strokes in an extensive series of tests in a radius of 125mm, no significant damping increases were found.
There is virtually unlimited oil resistance of the TPE external sheath, a broad temperature range from -35°C to +70°C, as well as extremely high abrasion resistance even in energy conduction systems.
The CF14 CAT5 special cable, marketed under the brand name Chainflex, is available as a 4 x 2 x 0.25mm2 cable that conforms to DESINA requirements.
