Tranter Heat Exchangers ' Platecoil prime surface plate heat exchangers are fabricated from two sheets, one or both of which are embossed. Once welded, the embossing works to create a series of passages through which heat transfer material flows.
Platecoil panels are available in over 300 sizes, with widths ranging from 305mm to 1,092 mm (12 inches to 43 inches.) Length dimensions range from 584mm to 3,632mm (23 inches to 143 inches.)
Units are hydrostatically pressure tested before they are shipped to ensure structural integrity. Platecoil is able to be rolled, bent or formed into any configuration. Several types of surface finish are available to reduce fouling and maintenance.
For high internal flow rates, low-pressure drops and rugged use, large pass, heavy gauge platecoil is available.
Platecoil uses type SA-414 stainless steel (0.15 percent max carbon and 0.25 to 0.50 percent manganese) and type 316L stainless steel. Other 300 series stainless steels are available. Platcoil can also be manufactured from Monel, nickel and carbon steel.
