Traditional Italian food manufacturer Ital Cakes and Biscuits has chosen a Toyota electric forklift to ensure it keeps up with its busy production schedule.

The 50-year-old Australian-owned and run company produces traditional Italian cakes and biscuits, along with popular Australian favourites.

Ital took out a long-term lease on a Toyota FBE18 three-wheel electric forklift due to its specific safety and environmental benefits.

The FBE18’s three-wheel design enhances its manoeuvrability, allowing it to make sharp pivot turns and making it ideal for working in narrow spaces.

Sources inform that selecting a smaller, more manoeuvrable model had allowed Ital Cakes and Biscuits to create more space for warehousing stock.

Sources have said that Toyota replaced two larger, gas-operated forklifts that had been in operation for close to 20 years.

Ital selected Toyota Material Handling (VIC) (TMH (Vic)) to supply its forklift after an extensive period of research and trials with competing products.
