TOSHIBA has released a new label printer - the B-SA4T series - that provides high speed, quality thermal printing that takes into account not only the user but the environment as well.
Its design provides a small compact footprint that is suitable for both desktop and industrial environments, with the added capability of upgrading to technologies such as wireless and RFID through the installation of a kit option.
Powerful networking tools allow the user to centrally manage all printers across the network via their serial number and IP address. This tool also gives the user the capability of remotely updating the printer firmware as and when required.
The user is not forgotten either with a smart trouble-free, drop-in media loading feature, moveable sensor and a simple, easy to follow graphical LCD menu.
The snap-in print head and quick change platen roller, are user replaceable, thus lowering the total cost of ownership.
However, most important of all, the environment is considered in this product with the use of lead free solder, chrome free steel sheets and halogen-free plastic printed circuit boards in its construction.
Two models are available - the B-SA4TM with a metal body for industrial use and the B-SA4TP with a plastic body for retail use.
The product’s real advantage lies in the ‘centre-justify’ print mechanism and double motor control that are unique to Toshiba's range of label printers.
While most printers on the market use left justified print mechanisms, Toshiba's centre-justified print mechanisms allow for even head pressure on the media, thus greatly extending the life of the print head.
The double motor control exacts the right amount of tension and torque to ensure that the ribbon remains wrinkle free and eliminates the need for tension adjustments.
