Leading road freight company Toll NQX announces the launch of a new weekly scheduled round-trip service between Perth and Mackay.
In a first for the Australian transport industry, the new direct service, which traverses almost 4800km between the two cities saves up to two working days in transit and ensures less handling of freight for Toll NQX customers.
Toll NQX General Manager Greg Smith explains that the new direct cross-country service is the way to go for companies in mining and mining services or those that have general/express freight to transfer across the country. The direct service eliminates the transhipping stop in Brisbane, reducing freight handling, saving up to two working days in transit, and delivering clients an air freight-type service at a road freight cost.
The route is serviced by Toll NQX company equipment, which ensures compliance with all legislative requirements.
The new express freight service departs Perth on Friday and arrives in Mackay on Monday. Mackay to Perth departs Monday and arrives in Perth Thursday. While this service has been available from Toll NQX for some years on an ad-hoc basis, the increasing demand encouraged the company to turn it into a scheduled weekly service. While the faster service ensures customer satisfaction, the reduced handling keeps freight in optimum condition.
Toll NQX’s new weekly direct service is a convenient way for diverse businesses with a variety of size loads to transport their freight including equipment and consumable goods to mining organisations operating in both Mackay and nearby Bowen Basin region as well as Perth.
Part of Toll Group, Toll NQX is a leading provider of road transport solutions for freight moving across Australia, serving a wide range of industries including mining, manufacturing, retail and wholesale.
