TIEMAN Industries has introduced a range of innovative dock safety solutions to the Australian materials handling industry.
The new range of products will add value to the entire Tieman dock product range and are an investment in a safer working environment, the company claims.
According to Dale Tieman of Tieman Industries, 2003 will be a great year for the industry as people and companies realise the positive value and benefits of improved safety and risk management within all areas of their business.
"Workplace health and safety has become such a serious issue in our country that Tieman is committed to providing the industry with the best solutions to help minimise injuries, risk and damage," he said.
"Employers can now invest in a range of innovative, safety solutions that are simple, cost effective and will reduce injury, downtime and improve productivity.”
Mr Tieman added that one step to decreasing workplace health and safety issues was to identify risk in products and/or procedures that violated safety issues, and replace them with a new safer version of the product or procedure.
"Our goal is to look at any product or procedure that is currently being used in the industry, within our areas of expertise, and to see if we can improve on it," Mr Tieman said.
The new range of safety solutions will include full and comprehensive combined physical and visual dock safety systems that have been designed to deliver a clear message to dock workers for improved safety.
These new state of the art communication systems will assist with duty of care and risk management dock policies.
Another product in the Tieman stable is a new technology that better illuminates inside entire trailers and is designed to increase forklift driver safety and minimise product and trailer damage whilst loading and unloading.
Mr Tieman added that transhipments in loading bays, which resulted in accidents and equipment damage, had also been identified as a safety issue of late.
"To ensure optimum safety Tieman will be releasing a range of automatic truck restraint systems for optimum forklift driver safety when loading and unloading trucks and containers," he said.
In addition, Tieman will be offering a new air replacement system that is aerodynamically designed to cool and circulate air within the entire length of the trailer or container.
"Our new air replacement system will not only create more comfortable and productive working conditions but will surpass the conventional truck fans currently available," he said.
"Safety is not a cost, it is an investment in our people and future," Mr Tieman said.
The new stable of Tieman products includes the Smart Chock, Versa Light, Safe Barrier Lip, Multi Chock, Sentry Safety Gate, Aerotec Fan, TKO Knock Out Doors, Handy Chock, Pallet Bumper and Safety Signal, Star Truck Restraint, Surface Chock Restraint, Auto Chock Restraint and the Hold Safe Stabiliser.
