Dewatering slurry pumps in demand

Supplier News

THE new TS 100/65 Titan Slurry underground mine de-watering pump from Thompsons Kelly & Lewis (TKL) is already attracting interest with Dowdens Pumping of Mackay supplying two of the pumps to Anglocoals's Capricorn Coal Mine in North Queensland.

This latest addition to TKL's Titan range draws on more than 100 years experience meeting the pumping needs of the Australian mining industry.

New features include a high developed head - 140m at 2 pole pump speed, and the capacity to handle free flowing slurries at flow rates up to 200m3/h.

The specially designed impeller and volute liner suit de-watering applications. The traditional rugged Titan construction has a high speed bearing arrangement for long life at direct drive, while there are impeller trim or belt drive options. The pump casing is rated to 3.5MPa.

The TS100/65 can use a quenchless single cartridge mechanical seal where no external flush is available, flushed seals or gland packing are available alternatives.

Liner materials include abrasion resistant hard metal CrMo as standard and there is also a high Cr corrosion resistance option.

The Capricorn Coal pumps will be installed shortly highlighting the ease with which Titan pumps can be bolted in place of other slurry pumps with little or no site modification.

They will be used for de-watering duties in the mine's underground workings. Thompsons Kelly & Lewis 03 9562 0744.
