THE Direct Digital Access (DDA) tank gauge from MTS Systems was developed to satisfy the demand for digital communication interface in the liquid level marketplace.
Available from Davidson Measurement , the digital, microprocessor-based design features modular electronics, flexible command interface, high noise rejection capability, built in test functions and automatic data error checking.
Outputs from the DDA tank gauge are communicated via a 4-wire; multidrop power and data bus (EIA-485) eliminating long cable runs from each individual tank.
The associated Levelplus tank monitors display data from up to eight DDA tank gauges, providing tank levels, temperature, volume and alarm information.
The monitors also provide eight relay contacts and eight isolated 4-20mA analog outputs.
The highly accurate level output of 0.51mm satisfies the need for precision inventory management. Repeatability is very high, in the order of 0.005% of FS.
The DDA gauges are intrinsically safe via approved barriers for hazardous area applications.
All Levelplus gauges use non-contacting magnetostrictive technology and have only one moving part - the float.
This simple design ensures no scheduled maintenance or re-calibration is required.
Materials of construction are chosen to suit the application and include 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy, Monel, and PTFE.
