GE Druck, represented in Australia by Thermo Fisher Scientific has released the DPI 800 series of hand-held pressure and temperature test tools designed to improve test and calibration efficiency for a range of industrial applications.
They have a palm-held contoured casing and an intuitive menu-driven interface, with a number of application-specific time saving features. Nine models cover pressure and temperature parameters and dual-function versions provide additional facilities for measuring mA, supplying 24V power, testing switches and providing HART compatibility.
Pressure models DPI800/802 use the company's Intelligent Digital Output Sensor (IDOS) technology to provide 0.05% FS accuracy from 0ºC to 50ºC including one year stability (0.01% FS precision optional). A choice of 22 pressure ranges are available from 25 mbar to 200 bar.
The DPI811/812 temperature variants provide RTD measure/source capability with two, three, four-wire autodetection for quick identification of sensor and wiring faults. The DPI820, a dual-input data logging thermometer and the DPI 821/822 thermocouple calibrators use cold junction compensation to keep errors within 0.2ºC, even for a 30ºC rapid change in ambient temperature. For increased flexibility, IDOS plug-in measurement modules expand the range of any IDOS-compatible instrument and can convert a temperature calibrator into a pressure indicator.
The DPI800 is 18cm long and weighs less than 500g. It has a large, backlit graphic display, a simple keypad and a weatherproof enclosure. It is quick and easy to use, even in adverse conditions. Applications include simple measurement and monitoring, indicator/controller and recorder testing, transmitter calibration, process loop set-up, switch/trip and safety system testing.
