The Plant Yard hire a range of handrail posts, mesh panel fencing and edge protection systems for use on construction sites or where ever there is a risk of an exposed edge existing with the risk of fall to persons or materials. The system is a modular type of system consisting of 2.4m long galvanised steel meshed fencing panels at a height of 1.0m supported by a series of square clip lock safety supporting posts.
For example, if one needed to cover a lineal distance of 24m, one would require 10 mesh panel fences and 11 safety handrail posts. If corners were involved in the project or breaks in the straight line, additional safety posts would be required. Once correctly installed, this mesh panel fencing provides a secure edge protection to the exposed face.
Alternatively some builders prefer to have a timber handrail located on a handrail post. This type of handrail post is also available, as is the circular handrail post, which can be used with scaffold clips and scaffold tube. This handrail system is most commonly used around stair wells with flexibility being provided in the swivel clips and tube and fitting.
Most builders and regulators however, prefer the mesh panel system to effect the edge protection as it provides a comprehensive meshed safety fence and is cost effective.
