DINDIMA Group has released a compact all-in-one video surveillance system, appropriately named SuperSleuth Wise, in a battery operated portable kit.
The unit fits in a carry case and can be relocated outside the carry case if required. It detects video motion, stores alarm images and communicates to a computer directly when alarmed images are to be viewed.
It is an intelligent camera with programmability and advanced features. Battery life exceeds three days of operation.
Traditionally, video surveillance or CCTV has never been portable. This is due to the requirement of a camera, motion detector and time-lapse video recorder, which consumes too much power and is too big.
To be effective, a video surveillance system must be able to detect motion. It must then record the alarm image. SuperSleuth Wise has solved this problem.
Wise has a built-in digital camera and also features sophisticated video motion detection (VMD). The VMD has four rectangular rubber band zones of any size and can be positioned anywhere in the view of the camera.
Upon VMD or external alarm trigger, the unit stores time and date stamped images to a rotating database. The flash Ram stores up to 700 alarmed images or up to 2500 low-resolution monochrome images.
The alarmed images are held within the Wise unit and cannot be erased. When the database is full, the new image overwrites the oldest image. This eliminates any maintenance like changing videotapes.
SuperSleuth Wise can operate as a stand-alone system. The images can be downloaded to a computer via a 4-metre cable provided. When connected via GSM modem, the captured images are transmitted to a remote computer or central monitoring station for video verification.
The owner can at anytime, dial in to view through the camera to interrogate the site. The intelligence of this unit is in its flexibility and programmability.
