Scratch tests: Tests can be done by single stroke, adjustable test force, pre-selected test speeds and pre-set displacement by a respective crank. The universal adapter allows the use of either a customer’s individual tools or tools according to standards.
Crosshatch cuts by single stroke, adjustable test force, pre-selected test speeds, pre-set displacement by a respective crank. The positioning of the cut distances made by manual lateral aligning of the specimen is supported by a ruler mounted on the sledge. Abrasion test: This test is done with pre-selectable amount of double strokes, adjustable test force and test speeds. To fix the abrasive media, a round and a rectangular adapter unit are available.
Solvent resistance and wipe test: ‘MEK Test’ (resistance against the solvent Methylethylceton) is done with pre-selectable amount of double strokes, adjustable test force and test speed. A replaceable special felt inset rubs cyclically onto the surface. The special felt is imbued with different liquids (solvents, oil, brake fluid, synthetic sweat and cleaning agents) and allows a statement to the resistance of the tested surface against the respective liquid.
In most of the laboratories, these tests are effected manually and are influenced by the particular person.
