TERALBA Industries has released Dimpleflo tubular heat exchangers. They are often installed in factories and processing plants to efficiently recover energy from hot waste water.

Industrial laundries, abattoirs, wool scourers and hospitals are some of the industries that have significantly reduced their energy usage through energy recovery from their effluent.

In most cases the cost of heat exchanger and installation is recovered in 12-18 months through the amount of energy saved in pre-heating washing machine water or boiler feed water.

The hot waste water is pumped through the inner tube of the heat exchanger in counter current flow to the incoming cold boiler feed water in the jacket, transferring the energy to this incoming cold water.

The fluid flow path is virtually unblockable and almost maintenance-free. A further benefit is that the temperature of waste water discharged from the Dimpleflo to the sewer is below the EPA waste water temperature requirements.
