A LENS is an optical element that has the ability to focus or diverge light beams. Until a few years ago, lenses were almost exclusively manufactured in glass. Thanks to modern and innovative moulding technologies, more and more lenses are manufactured in plastic materials.
Khatod Optolelectronic, Italian manufacturer of optoelectronic devices and synthetic lenses, is represented in Australia by Tenrod Australia P/L . After extensive research and development, Khatod has developed these synthetic lenses.
Khatod's designers and engineers, working with some of the major European design centres, have managed to develop highly technical products and create high quality standards by using software for optical simulation and thermoplastic injection moulding experimentation. The products are tested individually in the dark room to check the efficiency of virtual simulation, production and quality control.
Lenses, like the series of Biconvex lenses, are made in five different materials (PC, PMMA, SAN, PC IR, PMMA IR) and available with a minimum diameter of 3mm to a maximum diameter of 20mm. Fresnel lenses like series K71803 are custom made according to customers’ requirements.
Synthetic lenses find their application in different fields such as: industrial lasers, medical lasers, industrial and medical imaging, fibre telecommunication, scientific equipment, laboratory and industrial equipment, industrial automation and processing, professional and consumer optics. Other applications are theatrical lighting, optical fibre lighting, security and signal lighting as well as lighting systems in general in which all Khatod lenses for Power LEDs can be applied.
