New Khatod Optoelectronic products
ITALIAN manufacturer of optoelectronic devices Khatod Optoelectronic, which is represented in Australia by Tenrod - has introduced products protected from electrostatic discharges.
ESD (Electro Static Discharge) is a momentary unwanted current that causes damage to electronic equipment. Some electronic components can be seriously damaged by intense electric discharges generated by such actions as unpacking the shipped items, walking on carpet, touching synthetic cloth or getting out of the car or truck.
With the environment's humidity at about 30% or less, it is easy to generate charges in excess of 5 volts. Therefore protection from ESD is fundamental in the electronic industry and the correct management of this phenomenon can reduce problems with cards, electronic displays, and other electronic components sensitive to ESD.
ESD events may occur with or without a spark. All ESD events can cause devise failures or less obvious degradation of product due to the electrostatic event. Obviously, this causes economic loss as well as poor product performance.
When associated costs of repair and reworking; shipping, labour and overhead are considered, the impact of ESD is tremendous. Some products subject to ESD do not immediately malfunction, but the average life of the product is shortened.
Khatod Optoelectronic creates PTH solutions, series KDE30, KDE31, KDE32 and KDE301-15KV and also solutions for SMD technology, series KTAB and KTAB2.
Series KDE combines simplicity and ductility of traditional components and is available in all colours at 5V and 12V, with inverted polarity, low current, and protection from ESD discharges.
Series KTAB and KTAB2 offer the possibility to specify and construct cards without the need of putting the LED at the card's border. Series KTAB and KTAB2 with only 3 simple movements take the LED's light to the panel covering long distances without losing efficiency and also guarantee complete protection from electrostatic discharges.
