Tennant  is aligning its award-winning, chemical-free cleaning technology, ec-H2O with Orbio Technologies to focus on developing new and expanding chemical-free solutions.

Tennant Company is a world leader in designing, manufacturing and marketing solutions that help create a cleaner and safer world.

As Orbio Technologies expands current technologies, develops new solutions and forms strategic partnerships, Orbio will be established as a Tennant brand synonymous with chemical free cleaning.

Tennant has additionally updated the ec-H2O logo to be more complementary with the Orbio brand. Tennant scrubbers fitted with ec-H2O will begin shipping to customers featuring the new logo by the end of 2010.

Orbio Technologies has developed the following innovations:

ec-H2O

Launched in 2008, ec-H2O enables users to effectively clean without the use of chemicals or detergents.

Key benefits of ec-H2O chemical-free cleaning solutions:

  • Better cleaning capabilities, enhancing facility appearance over traditional chemicals
  • Saves money and improves productivity up to 35% compared to chemical scrubbing
  • Increases safety by improving floor traction and promotes health
  • Reduces the impact of cleaning operations on the environment by up to 98%
Orbio-E Technology

The ionatorEXP and ionatorHOM are two handheld chemical-free cleaners released by Orbio Technologies along with their license partner Activeion.

The handheld chemical-free cleaners include ‘Orbio-E’ technology, which is based on irreversible electroporation that has the ability to kill bacteria and make inactive pathogenic viruses without using chemicals.

When used as directed on nonporous hard surfaces with a 6-second spray, the ionatorEXP and ionatorHOM can kill the 2009 pandemic H1N1 influenza A virus in addition to more than 99.9% of the most harmful bacteria such as E. coli, VRE, Salmonella, MRSA, Pseudomonas, Staph and Listeria.

Additionally, the ionatorEXP has been awarded HACCP Food Safe Endorsement as a tool recommended for use in food facilities as part of a food hygiene program. The endorsement is aimed at organisations that are required to supply food safe equipment, machinery, supplies and services to the food industry.
