TEC bimetal/bimetallic dial thermometers sense and indicate temperature using a bimetal/bimetallic coil, which consists of two dissimilar metals bonded together. These materials have different coefficients of expansion and when subjected to temperature change, rotate the indicating temperature pointer. No external power is required making them suitable for temperature indication in remote or hazardous area environments. TEC bimetal/bimetallic dial thermometers are hermetically sealed and can be re-calibrated by using the external adjustment screw.
A TEC bimetal/bimetallic dial thermometer can be ordered in 3” or 5” dial size and a wide selection of temperature ranges up to 600°C with an accuracy of 1% of span. They come with a shatterproof laminated safety glass or polycarbonate lens for food processing applications.
Standard stem length ranges stocked are 2.5”, 4”, 6”, 9” and 12” and stem lengths up to 24” are also available on indent basis.
TEC bimetal/bimetallic dial thermometers are available in two heavy duty designs. One is the lower cost fixed head where the probe is attached to the rear of the dial Model BL back connection. The other is the adjustable all angle Model BA bimetal, which allows easy viewing in most applications.
TEC bimetal/bimetallic dial thermometers are used in the following applications:
- Electrical transformers
- Petrochemical plants
- Food processing equipment
- Boilers and general uses such as wood fired pizza ovens
Bimetal/bimetallic dial thermometers can be used with thermowells to protect the stem from damage and maintain the process pressure rating.
Temperature Controls manufacture and stock a full range of thermowells and keep ex-stock standard thermowells to suit bimetal lengths with ½” NPT and ½” BSPT process connection.
