Video test equipment provider Quantum Data introduces a new handheld test instrument in the 780 series.

Identical to the 780 in form and operation, the new 780A handheld test instrument includes all the 780 features but supports HDMI 1.4 speeds of 297MHz on both its HDMI Tx and Rx ports, enabling engineers and AV installers to test 4K-capable HDMI sources, sinks and repeaters.

The 780A combines versatility with ease of use at an attractive price. There are several new features planned for the 780A beyond the rich set provided by the 780.

Key features of the 780A handheld test instruments:

  • Will support 4:2:0 pattern testing and analysis of 4:2:0 HDMI incoming streams
  • Incoming HDMI video streams at the HDMI Rx port can be passed through to the HDMI Tx port, enabling incoming video to be viewed on an attached HDTV
  • Incoming 4K image can be viewed unscaled by scrolling on the embedded display
  • Speaker and headphone jack will allow monitoring of LPCM audio received on the incoming HDMI stream
  • Battery powered, portable multimedia AV signal generator and analyser
  • Can quickly check HDMI digital ports on devices such as HDTVs, projectors, repeaters, switches, distribution amps, AV receivers, players, set-top-boxes, etc.
  • Analogue component video as well as SPDIF and TOS-Link audio inputs can also be tested
Quantum Data is distributed by TekMark Australia .
