A built-in force sensor ensures that forces can be reliably adjusted with mN-accuracy, and everything in these new systems is completely software-controlled.
TMA 402 Hyperion thermo mechanical analysers are available in two versions, both of which allow forces to be modified stepwise or linearly at any point during a measurement.
The premium version of these analysers, model TMA 402 F1, also incorporates continuous force modulation features, outputting a saw tooth, square or sinusoidal wave with a freely selectable frequency up to 1 Hz.
This enables a wide range of experiments to be performed, including:
- coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE)
- stress sweep
- softening; and
- visco-elastic properties (Young’s modulus).
In addition, the modular design of TMA 402 analysers allows for furnace exchanges, expanding the possible applications for the instruments to even higher temperatures.
The low temperature steel furnace can be equipped with a liquid nitrogen cooling system, allowing for a temperature range of -150ºC to 1000ºC, while the SiC furnace can be used from ambient temperature upwards and reaches up to 1550ºC.
