Leak Testers for pressure decay, flow rate, vacuum decay, and other applications

Product/Service Name

Leak Testers and special leak test techniques for flexible packaging

Application/Function:

The choice of which leak tester for each application is notoriously difficult. TSE has more than 35 years of experience in leak testers, and is able to advise on the best test method for each application.  Because TSE is able to offer the widest range of leak test methods. We can offer objective and independent advice on the most appropriate leak test for your requirements. Pressure decay and vacuum decay leak tests are long established, and widely used for applications where the parts are not too hot or too cold, the volume is not too large, and the sensitivity is similar to watertight or fuel tight. It is well suited to high volume testing, and we can integrate the leak tester into an automated or semi automated station. Furness Controls range is recognised as a leader in the technology, with a unique flat diaphragm sensing element which gives the highest possible sensitivity and range.

Tracer gas leak testing is potentially much more sensitive, and well suited to larger volume parts and the highest sensitivity.  It is also works well for locating leaks after pressure decay testing. Either hydrogen and helium can be used, with hydrogen leak tests being cheaper and easier to perform, but not able to deliver the same sensitivity limits as helium. Sensistor has made major advances in recent times with the technology of hydrogen leak detection.

For leak testing of flexible packaging TSE has developed a unique range of Sealtick testers leak. Again, the specific shape and size of the package, and the size of leak to be detected, and the number of tests to be made make a big difference to the optimum method. Online leak tests require further refinements to determine the most economical method.

Our leak testers are suitable for a range of applications, including pressure decay, flow rate, vacuum decay, tracer gas using nitrogen or helium, & special leak test techniques for flexible packaging. With over 35 years experience in this field, TSE are able to offer expert advice and support.

Differentiating Features:

  • The most experienced team of expertise in leak testing can advise on the best method
  • Able to offer the widest range of technique for each application
  • Furness Controls flat diaphragm technology pressure decay leak testers give maximum sensitivity down to the lowest levels
  • Sensistor hydrogen leak detectors enable low cost tracer gas methods, as well as leak tracing capabilities
  • Sealtick package integrity testers allow routine testing in the food, pharmaceutical and medical industries.
