The highly regarded Japanese crane manufacturer, Tadano Ltd has entered the Australian market in its own right with Tadano Oceania Pty Ltd .
Tadano Oceania, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tadano Ltd is a factory-owned and operated sales and service office based in Brisbane.
The new Tadano Oceania company has administrative offices and expansive workshops located in the Brisbane suburb of Darra.
Tadano Oceania has responsibility for the Australian, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea markets.
Heading the Tadano Oceania operation is MD Futoshi Kimura, a long standing and highly experienced Tadano employee.
Relocating to Australia to head up the Tadano Oceania team is the most recent advancement in his 17-year career for Futoshi Kimura at Tadano. With a tertiary qualification in economics, Kimura has a wealth of experience in sales and product development.
Prior to the Australian posting, Kimura was the sales manager for the Asian market. He also spent five years working for Tadano in Germany at the Tadano-Faun facility.
According to crane industry identity and Tadano Oceania Operations Manager Peter Shelton, having Futoshi Kimura head up the local effort is a major benefit.
“Kimura is a wonderful asset to our factory-backed presence in the market,” Peter Shelton said.
“With such an extensive background at Tadano in Japan, Asia and Europe, his product knowledge and his links to the factory are first rate.”
With the Tadano brand having been so well accepted in Australia over the past five years or so, the new factory-backed structure introduces an elevated level of presence and support.
“We are completely committed to the Australian, NZ and PNG markets,” Peter Shelton said.
“The Tadano brand is exceptionally strong and there are some exceptional new cranes coming through soon; cranes that are ideally suited to our markets. There is a new 60-tonne truck crane coming from our Japanese plant and the Tadano Mantis telescopic boom crawlers add a whole new range of advanced crane technology.
“Already, we are selling and delivering new Tadano cranes to Australian customers. Our parts support is established, and our Brisbane service workshop is well on the way to being fully fitted out and operational.”
