PACKAGING equipment manufacturer TNA Australia has won the coveted Excellence in Innovation Award for Outstanding Innovative Product (Large Business) at the 2006 Western Sydney Industry Awards.
An initiative of the Office of the Minister for Western Sydney, the Excellence in Innovation Award recognises innovative products, services, processes or technologies.
Judged by a panel of industry peers, finalists are assessed on a business overview, business viability and development, business financial health and product innovation.
NSW Minister for Western Sydney, Diane Beamer, and NSW Premier Morris Iemma announced TNA as the winner in front of 500 guests at the presentation function.
Established in 1982 by Alf and Nadia Taylor, TNA Australia has grown to become acknowledged internationally as a leader in the food packaging industry. With more than 2000 of the company's award-winning Vertical Form Fill and Seal machines in operation around the world, the company has extended its packaging equipment capabilities to include the powder and fresh produce markets.
Accepting the award, TNA company director Nadia Taylor, said the Excellence in Innovation Award celebrates excellence in innovation, leadership and drive; attributes for which TNA is renowned.
"This is a special award for us and we are honoured to receive it," said Mrs Taylor. "I am accepting it on behalf of the 180 dedicated people worldwide who make up the TNA team. Our thanks to the Office of the Minister for Western Sydney, the Greater Western Sydney Economic Development Board, the Department of State and Regional Development, Parramatta City Council and the Sydney Olympic Park Authority for their ongoing interest in and contribution to the business health of the western Sydney region."
