EPSON, represented by TE Australia , has released a colour OLED (organic light-emitting diode) controller, called the S1D13701.
The OLED is suitable for displays in the automotive and entertainment market.
The S1D13701 has a suitable interface for various OLED drivers and supports various display sizes. The maximum display size is 1024 x 512 pixels. The device supports colour and monochrome, with 2/4/8/16 grey level monochrome and a maximum colour depth of 4096 colours (16 grey levels per RGB).
The built in SRAM frame memory has a size of 24KB. The controller can adjust a flexible pulse width for each tone. A blanking time adjustment is also implemented.
The S1D13701 has an OLED driver interface that is working with the most common OLED driver from several vendors. Additionally the S1D13701 offers indirect MPU support (Intel 80x and Motorola 68x series) and 8/16-bit MPU support.
The device has an operating voltage of 5/3.3V for I/O and 1.8V for core (two power supplies). It can operate at temperatures between -40°C and 85°C, has a 20MHz clock and comes in QFP 64-pin (10 x 10 x 1.4mm) packages.
The S1D13701 is easy to integrate into new OLED applications and supports you to shorten the time to market for application development.
