AFTER the introduction of the concept of the New Platform Oscillator (NPO) EPSON, represented by TE Australia , has released the first product based on this innovative package technology, the SG-8002LB.
The SG-8002LB is smaller than any other plastic package on the market and is the first to feature the NPO ultra-miniature package.
The oscillator has a surface area of 5 x 3.2mm2 and is 1.2mm in height. This makes it suitable for use in environments requiring a low profile. The LB package is less than half the size has a volume 60% smaller than the industry standard package of 5 x 7mm2. The low height means the oscillator is no longer the highest component on the PCB.
The one time programmable SG-8002LB is the first oscillator available in this package. It is available in a wide range of frequencies ranging from 1MHz to 125MHz, and operates between -40 and +85°C.
Frequency stability of ±50ppm and ±100ppm can be specified over two different temperature ranges. The oscillator is programmed in a batch process in mass production quantities. Samples are programmed by our distributors or even by customers themselves and are available within days. Programmers are also available.
Like the other oscillators in the SG-8002 series, the SG-8002LB uses an internal PLL frequency generation circuit. The SG-8002 series fulfils all basic needs for a standard clock oscillator.
The oscillator can be applied with Bluetooth, reference clocks for Ethernet and bus speed clock in PCs or industry automation.
