EPSON, represented by TE Australia , has developed the LCD controller series S1D13700 for monochrome STN panels. In combination with various LCD modules a very flexible, low-power display system can be configured.
The S1D13700 can display text and graphics on a midsized dot-matrix panel. Display data or character codes can be stored in an embedded 32kB SRAM display buffer.
An internal character generator ROM can be used for displaying characters. The unit’s abundant command functions make it possible to overlay the text and graphic screens, scroll the screen in any direction (except in greyscale mode), split the screen and show pictures in greyscale mode. In addition the embedded 32kB SRAM display buffer, the built-in LCD Controller circuit and a high-speed character generator allow a system development with only a few external circuits.
The S1D13700 is aimed at the industrial market, for example in factory automation equipment.
