T.E.A. Transmissions announces the availability of trapezoidal threads in C15 carbon steel, including both right and left forms in various lengths up to 3000mm with longer lengths supplied on request.

T.E.A. Transmissions also offers stainless steel trapezoidal thread AISI 304/ 1.4301 and marine grade trapezoidal thread in stainless steel AISI 316/ 1.4401-4 on request. The company offers these products in standard sizes sourced from their precision manufacturer overseas while non-standard sizes, and left hand thread in various sizes, can also be supplied based on requirement.

Nuts are available in steel, stainless steel, plastic and bronze materials, in plain round, round with flange and mounting holes, hexagonal and square options.

Being the imperial size alternative, Acme thread is sourced readily on request. Buyers can provide product specification detail for quotation including the outside diameter, threads per inch, length, quantity, and material type together with nut specifications.

Trapezoidal threads feature a common screw thread profile offering high strength with ease of machining and assembly. Typically these threads are found where large load or accuracy is required as in vices where the thread is used to supply compressional holding force or the lead screw of a lathe where the thread is used to convert rotational motion into linear motion.

Similar to the Acme series, the trapezoidal thread and nuts are power transmission screw threads made to metric dimensions and standards instead of inch. The flank angle is a key difference between Acme and trapezoidal threads with Acme threads having flank angles of 29° while trapezoidal threads feature 30° angles. All trapezoidal threads have lead angles of 5° or less making them self locking, which prevents the screw from back-driving under most conditions, eliminating the need for brakes or other holding devices.

The standard range of threads available from T.E.A. Transmissions is cold formed using a unique, highly accurate thread rolling process, which guarantees a smooth, high quality thread. The range of applications for the trapezoidal thread spindles is expanded as it is possible to choose from threads produced from steel or stainless steel, and nuts produced from bronze, steel or stainless steel. Steel nuts are not intended for motor driven motion screws, while bronze nuts provide superior service at higher working loads.
