T.E.A Transmissions have come up with spiral bevel gearboxes to counter the problems of gearboxes with straight teeth. The advantages of spiral teeth over straight teeth is they are quieter and are subjected to less stress at high speeds as the teeth engage gradually across the whole surface causing less abrupt transfer of force.
DZ, BG & TK Spiral Bevel Gearboxes are manufactured to meet design requirements for transmission of rotary motion and power between 90° angle shafts. The DZ Spiral Bevel Gearboxes have single-piece aluminium alloy housing; nickel chrome steel gears with case-hardened teeth and steel shafts with large bearings. Shaft sizes range from 8mm to 35mm, with a maximum input power of 15kW at a speed of 3000rpm.
The BG Spiral Bevel Gearboxes have cast iron housing and gears made from case hardened alloy steel, tempered and lapped to the exact mounting position. Input and output shafts are hardened tempered steel. Shafts from 12mm to 75mm capable of input power up to 265kW and speeds of 3000rpm are available. The configurations available are speed reduction; speed increaser, counter rotating, hollow shaft, multi shaft; motor, flange adaptor, disengaging and co-axial reversing models.
The TK Spiral Bevel Gearboxes are manufactured entirely from AISI 304 stainless steel. The electro polished surface is ideal for the food and pharmaceutical industries. Available in 3 different sizes their shafts from 9mm to 20mm. These are capable of an input power up to 5.5kW and speeds of 1400rpm.
If customer criteria cannot be met using the above spiral bevel gearboxes, individual straight bevel gears are also available in steel, stainless steel or plastic.
