T.E.A. Transmissions ' linear rails consist of a recirculating ball baring carrier that slides within a fixed length of guide rail. One or more of these carriers can be used within each length of rail.
The carriers on these linear rails are suited properly using precision machining (general manufacturing tolerances are around 1/10th of millimetre), and there are 11 different models and two lengths available.
The load capacity of these carriers is from 5 to 600 kg per carrier and they are made of aluminium or stainless steel.
The linear guide rail is made from cold drawn steel profile. This manufacturing process causes a work hardening of the material, which increases the wear resistance of the steel.
These linear rails are also surface corrosion treated and the maximum length for a single piece of rail at 3 meters. Longer runs of the rail can be simply supplied for end to end connection.
The general technique of fastening is by using countersunk screws, but the rails however, are supplied undrilled as a standard and fixing with holes supplied on request.
To allow the fixing of rails to carriers, all carriers also have two drilled and tapped threads. The speed of use is a maximum of 0.5m/s.
