The SL2 stainless steel based slide system is an ideal solution for applications that require operation with high precision under clean room conditions with no lubrication or excellent corrosion resistance in wash down and harsh environments. The SL2 requires minimal maintenance and offers a long service life.
The stainless steel based slide system range comprises stainless steel bearing assemblies, flat slides and spacer slides that are all produced from AISI 400 series stainless.
A range of light weight aluminium carriage plates & flange clamps are complementary and available with special surface treatment providing corrosion resistance that is better than most stainless steels. The special treatment process for the aluminium is approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for use in food processing machinery.
The proven Hepco ‘V’ concept and quality of the manufacturing process provides the SL2 stainless steel based slide system with its smooth running and low friction characteristics. These qualities allow the SL2 to be operated dry without lubrication, for sensitive applications. However, the system can be equipped with cap seals that prevent the ingress of dirt, provide positive lubrication and extend service life. Grease used can be high temperature resistant, food compatible or suitable to nuclear engineering application specifications.
There are seven sizes of flat slide sections and four sizes of spacer slides section in this range and all slides are available in lengths up to 4 meters, except for the smallest size.
The stainless steel based slide systems are supplied hardened and ground for durability, smooth running and resistance to corrosion. Plastic plugs in all counter bores remove any dirt traps. There are 3 lengths of carriage plates available for each slide with the option of either double row or twin bearing assemblies.
