Syscan International introduces integrated animal identification solution

Syscan International  has developed LiveTrack, as a completely integrated animal identification solution.

Global identification programs supporting the traceability and recall of livestock have endorsed RFID as the technology of choice to support automatic identification and supply chain compliance.

According to Scott Austin, President, Syscan International Australasia, LiveTrack identifies the animal from farm to slaughter.

“LiveTrack communicates data via Bluetooth to a handheld PDA device or network access point for transfer to a central Agriculture Department Database (Agri-Tracabilite Quebec) allowing the animals registration. This ensures that the traceability of the animal is all the way from birth to slaughter,” Scott Austin said.

LiveTrack ensures compliance to regulatory requirements for the identification and traceability of animals nationally and internationally, recording the movement of animals from point to point.

“LiveTrack helps accomplish full traceability of live animals and enables farmers, animal transporters, auctioneers and abattoirs the opportunity to comply with Federal and provincial regulations,” he said.

Syscan International supplies a range of RFID readers and supply chain management solutions around animal identification. From LiveTrack hand held cattle tag readers through to companion animal microchips, Syscan International supports the correct handling and traceability of compliance for livestock.
