Over the past few weeks towns and surrounding properties in Queensland, Australia have been hard hit by flooding.

Sykes'  pumps have been widely used in the relief efforts to quickly dewater essential areas so that minesites can get up and running again.

All Sykes stock High Head pumps have been commissioned to the region, with others being called in from around Australia.

Sykes regional manager Glenn Garrett said it had been a hectic time.

“Obviously this is a very stressful time for the people of the region and we have been doing our best to meet customers requests quickly and easily,” said Glenn.

“I have been calling in favours from the other Sykes managers around Australia, just so we can make this time a little easier for people involved in this nature disaster.”

Sykes HH220i, High Head auto-prime pump offers discharge heads to 138m and flows of up to 282l/second. The Sykes HH200i offers oil lubricated bearings and INPRO seals as standard.

The HH220i is available in diesel or electric drive with numerous options available for custom building to any specific application.

Sykes Xtra High Pump range have good shaft stiffness ratios. Sykes engineers have ensured that the enormous pressures and leads associated with such performance do not compromise seal integrity through shaft flexing.
