SWEDISH pump company Grindex, represented in Australia by Sykes Pumps , has introduced the latest addition to its Tuff line of submersible pumps -- the Tuff Solo, a sludge pump, unique in its design.
Built to the same high standards, the Tuff Solo has been specially developed and sized to meet an urgent demand in many applications - the need for a small, yet highly efficient and reliable sludge pump.
Although it weights only 15kg, it has the capacity to handle sand, gravel and sludge particle up to 40mm in diameter at a rate of 480 litres a minute.
Sludge pumps, by the nature of the product they are handling, are prone to excessive wear. The Tuff Solo is built to withstand such harsh conditions.
The pump housing and impeller are made of wear-resistant high-density polyurethane and the stainless steel casing is corrugated to enable it to withstand abuse and corrosion.
Grindex AB, is a world leading manufacturer of submersible pumps for construction, mining, tunnelling, rescue work and other challenging applications where high-performance and reliability are essential requirements.
Three years ago, Grindex introduced the 'Tuff-One' - the first pump in a new line of pumps developed for those applications where high performance, durability and lightweight where required.
Tuff-One proved it was rugged and reliable to work in demanding applications, and quickly became a useful 'tool' on construction and building sites.
