Now available from Sykes Group, the Dragflow agitator slurry pump is especially designed to move dense slurries and pick up sediment all in one operation.

In a relatively new single operation, the Dragflow agitator slurry pump picks up solids from rest, mixes them into a high density slurry and pumps them all in the same operation.

The specifically designed agitator is the key for picking up material from rest. It handles fast settling, high specific gravity solids and viscous thixotropic mud and is used to physically and hydraulically force material away from the pump’s suction. This action creates a downward pressure which stirs up material below the pump’s suction.

This pressure differential. i.e the suction of the pump versus the downward pressure of the agitator, will mix and homogenise the stirred up material. The mixed and homogenised slurry is than drawn back into the suction as a highly concentrated, uniform slurry.

Any material that is too large to enter the suction of the Dragflow agitator slurry pump is repelled to ensure it does not plug the suction screen.

The Dragflow agitator slurry pump offers a highly efficient way of moving solids in a range of applications, including:

  • sumps
  • mine tailings reclamation
  • dredging applications
  • mill scale pits.
