Sydney Electrical Appliance Testing (SEAT) provides a wide range of OHS, electrical, telecommunications and data services in addition to reliable and affordable Test and Tag services.
SEAT is part of Sydney Electrical & Data Pty Ltd, licensed electrical contractors with expertise in commercial electrical maintenance, data cabling installation and maintenance, telephone connections and extensions, PBX installation and maintenance, ADSL connections and fault-finding.
SEAT offers electrical contracting services such as electrical testing and tagging services, commercial lighting maintenance, fault-finding and repairs, workstation moves and reconfiguration as well as installation of additional power points at the workplace, shop or school.
SEAT technicians provide hassle-free emergency light testing and repairs. Emergency and exit lighting is required to be inspected and tested every six months to ensure that all emergency light fittings are operational.
SEAT provides thorough testing and a complete log of test results and repairs to meet compliance requirements. Top quality emergency lighting and exit lighting products including the latest LED and CCFL technologies sourced from leading manufacturers such as Thomas & Betts, Stanilite, Legrand, Clevertronics and Bardic are installed.
Typical fittings include spitfires, single-sided exits, and double-sided exits in addition to specialised fittings such as weatherproof battens, weatherproof exits and coolroom exit light fittings.
SEAT also assists companies in meeting the requirements of a new legislation regarding Residual Current Devices (RCDs or Safety Switches) that came into force in NSW in 2011.
The Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Residual Current Devices) Regulation 2011 requires employers to ensure that each electrical outlet socket at the workplace is protected by a residual current device. To be enforced from 2015, the legislation allows employers in NSW less than four years to retrofit RCDs to all electrical socket outlet circuits at the workplace.
SEAT’s licensed electricians can assist employers assess their RCD requirements, and then upgrade the electrical switchboards to meet the new regulations. SEAT technicians are also trained and equipped to perform regular inspection and trip time testing of RCDs (Safety Switches) as required under various standards including AS/NZS 3760:2010, AS/NZS 3000:2007, AS/NZS 3012, AS/NZS 3017 and AS/NZS 3019.
In addition to the full range of electrical safety inspection and testing services, SEAT also provides reactive maintenance services and installation services for a large range of electrical, telecommunications and data equipment through expert telecommunications and data technicians.
