Sydney Electrical Appliance Testing have test and tag technicians located throughout Sydney, in places such as, CBD, Marrickville, Alexandria, Bondi Junction, North Sydney, Chatswood, Brookvale, Ryde, Rydalmere, Silverwater, Wetherill Park, Hurstville, Canterbury, Parramatta and Liverpool.
Test and tag is the best way to maintain the electrical equipment, tools, extension leads and power boards. Test and tag technicians can visit the workplace, whether it is a factory, a construction site, school, warehouse, hotel, shop, or surgery. The technicians can check the appliances and cords with a thorough visual inspection, and by plugging them into a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT for short).
The Portable Appliance Tester can check whether the ‘Earth’ is properly connected, and whether there is any voltage or current leaking to the outside casing of the appliance. The Test and tag technicians from Sydney Electrical Appliance Testing then can apply a barcode label to the cord of the appliance, and nearby, they can apply a Test Tag.
The test tag is a robust and durable sticker that bears information such as, when the appliance was last tested, when the appliance will next need to be tested and who tested and tagged it. The test and tag technician scans the barcode into the computer, and then logs the results of the inspection and test. If there is a problem with the cord or the plug, the test and tag electrician should be able to repair it on the spot.
When all of the cords, tools and appliances have been tested and tagged, the results of the tests are e-mailed out to customers as a spreadsheet database, so that customers will know, which items have passed, which have failed, and which ones were repaired.
