Servicing pressure washers

Supplier News

Most pressure washer owners do not have the ‘in-house’ expertise to service their own machines.

A pressure washer creates a high velocity jet by forcing water through a small nozzle at the exit of the pump. Obviously, this process creates wear on machine parts such as pistons, valves and accessories.  In hot water machines, burner systems can clog and coils may need de-scaling. Coupled with the fact that pressure washers are often used in less than ideal situations, regular maintenance, such as routine checks and oil changes, is essential.

The frequency of maintenance depends on how long and how often the pressure washer is used.  With frequent use, your machine may need minor maintenance 2 or 3 times per year. However, most pressure washer owners do not have the ‘in-house’ expertise to service their own machines.

If you are buying a pressure cleaner and don’t have the necessary repair skills, choose a supplier with a reputable on-site service team.  Ask for references and check to see what their typical response times are like and also on the quality of workmanship.  Buying from a supplier without on-site service is not good practice.

Sweepex Australia is the authorised service dealer for Karcher Commercial and Industrial Pressure Cleaners in the greater Sydney region.  Their on-site team regularly maintain Karcher Industrial machines, including units that have been in reliable service for over 20 years.
