Karcher recently increased its commitment in its search for new solutions to cleaning problems which are designed to match the requirements of its customers by innovation and worldwide growth.
Karcher has further extended its market position in the United States by acquiring Castle Rock Industries Inc, the American market leader in equipment for commercial carpet cleaning based in Englewood (Colorado), from Boston-based private equity company Heritage Partners. With this acquisition, Karcher will not only become the market leader in the US for high-pressure cleaners but also in commercial soft floor cleaning machines.
There were numerous reasons in favour of the acquisition, which was carried through after a long period of intensive preparation. Castle Rock has a comprehensive range of products and an after-sales service which are exactly tuned to the requirements of the American market. The dealer network in the US ensures full coverage. In addition, the product lines of both companies complement each other in practically all machine categories.
Castle Rock will continue to be run as an independent company and the well-established brands Windsor, Prochem, Graco and TecServ will be maintained.
Castle Rock manufactures products at several US plants, including various types of vacuums, spray extraction machines, scrubber dryers, sweepers and cleaning chemicals.
Karcher specializes in the development, production and distribution of cleaning technology and equipment for private and commercial users. The product portfolio includes high-pressure washers, vacuum cleaners, ice blasters, steam cleaners, sweepers and scrubber dryers as well as vehicle washes, cleaning agents, drinking water treatment and waste water treatment plants.
