Custom-designed protractor saves time
A TIME and material-saving protractor, designed specifically for metalworking applications, has been introduced by Australian machine tool company specialist Swadesir International .

The new instrument features large, 550mm, arms designed for easy handling on the surfaces of round and square pipes.
Swadesir R&D coordinator Steven Casamento said measuring angles on pipe bends was difficult with standard protractors because of the lack of apex due to the bend radius. The large arms make it easy to read bend angles as the arms have sufficient length to align with the straight sections adjacent to the bend.
"We couldn't find anything on the market ideal for precision fabrication in our own plant, so we designed and made our own product specifically for other metal fabricators facing the same problem across diverse industries," he said.
The new BP180 Bender Protractor features an easy-to-read scale and arms that can be locked in position for convenience when transferring measured angles for bending.
It is manufactured from plated steel for durability.
