Sutton Tools introduces new drill for porcelain and vitrified tiles
Sutton Tools , Australia’s leading manufacturer and distributor of power tool accessories is excited to release Diager’s Pro Ceram drill bit.
Unique to the Australian market, the Pro Ceram diamond coated drill head is designed specifically for drilling ceramics.
Pro Ceram easily outperforms standard tile drill bits giving you fast, accurate holes in dense surfaces such as Monocuttura, glazed and fully vitrified tiles.
“Every tile, shower screen installer, tradesperson or handyman knows the problems when it comes to drilling tiles.” John Harrison, Sutton Tools National Sales Manager, Consumer Products said.
“Once the tiles are mounted and the soap dish, towel holder and accessories need to be installed it can be difficult to drill into the new generation of very hard tiles.”
“Drilling with conventional tile drill bits can be a challenge. Drill tips can skid along the tile causing the hole to be damaged or chipped, even crack the tile.”
“This is where Diager’s Pro Ceram diamond coated drill bit is the solution.” Mr Harrison explained.
The PROceram secret lies in its revolutionary design and diamond coated cutting head, which cuts through tough ceramics ……….as easy as 1, 2, 3
The first step is to mark where the hole is required and wet the tile area with sufficient water.
This helps the cutting process and prolongs the life of the drill tip.
The drilling process begins by holding the drill at a 45 degree angle and progressively straightening up the drill to 90 degrees.
Lubricate the surface at regular intervals to avoid overheating the drill.
“The core extraction chamber of Pro Ceram allows for waste evacuation, while the reverse spiral flute assists in keeping the drill bit cool,” explained Mr Harrison.
Excessive pressure while drilling is not required when using Pro Ceram. Simply allow the diamond drill to cut through the tile.
When finished, extract the remaining core, and wipe away the slurry to display the perfect hole … every time.
For walls and vertical drilling applications the PROceram water dispenser ensures maximum lubrication of your drill at all times.
Simply locate and centre the water dispenser over the marked drilling point and secure.
When in place fill the reservoir with water and begin the drilling process again starting at a 45 degree angle and straightening to 90 degrees.
“Pro Ceram really is a must for every professional trade or handyperson’s toolbox,” said Mr Harrison.
Pro Ceram drill bits are available in a range of popular sizes of 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 and 25 diameter drill bits.
