The 13 year old from Maryborough Victoria, was rushed to hospital after falling from his bike and hitting his head on the pavement.

Dr Rob Carson saw that the boy, slipping in and out of consciousness, was experiencing potentially fatal bleeding on the brain and that the pressure on his skull needed to be relieved.

With no neurological drills in the country hospital Dr Rob Carson’s sent for a house hold power drill with a Sutton Tools Drill Bit in it from the maintenance department.Nicholas Rossi’s life was saved by Dr Rob Carson’s quick thinking.

Sutton Tools Maryborough Business Unit Manager Mr Tony Hudson, inspected the drill and confirmed it is out of the Sutton Tools standard S3 Blue Drill Set and is 25/64 imperial size with a standard point.

The drill manufactured locally at Maryborough Sutton Tools Plant, was a key point in a life saving procedure.
