Sutton Tools  has extended their range of carbide burs to include both metric and imperial shank, with the company now offering one of the most comprehensive ranges in the market.

Double cut burs

Designed to allow rapid stock removal in harder materials, double cut burs feature a chisel tooth pattern that not only minimises tool chatter but reduces the chip to a granular shape in most materials, thereby reducing or eliminating the sharp sliver chips normally experienced. This chip reduction also helps eliminate loading of the flutes.

Tool control is also improved as the double cut bur tends to reduce the pulling action of the main flute pattern. The finish reduction is offset by improvement in material removal and increased production.

Key features of double cut burs:

  • Made from solid carbide
  • Double cut allows for rapid stock removal in harder materials
  • Chisel type cutting edge minimises tool chatter and reduces chips to granular shape
  • Suitable for use in steel, stainless steel, high temperature alloys and cast iron
Aluminium cut burs

Recommended for rapid material removal of aluminium or other soft materials such as brass, copper and plastics that would normally load other cuts, the extra deep aluminium cut flute pattern eliminates bur loading.

Key features of aluminium cut burs:

  • Made from solid carbide
  • Flute pattern recommended for rapid material removal in softer materials
  • Chisel type cutting edge minimises tool chatter and reduces chips to granular shape
  • Suitable for use in soft materials such as aluminium, brass, copper and plastics
