Hitomi Snelling set up a small shop called ‘Silo Sushi & Asian Foods’ in Atherton, North Queensland with considerable support and assistance from Melvin Wee of Sushi Machine
Hitomi received continuous advice from Melvin about sushi machines prior to the opening of the sushi shop in April 2009. On Melvin’s advice, she decided to buy a second hand Maki machine from a shop in Cairns. She also bought a Shari Maker ASM720 and Maki Cutter ASM230 from Melvin.
Melvin and his wife Claudine came to Hitomi’s shop just before the opening to supervise the installation of the sushi machines. Hitomi was also trained on using and maintaining the machines in addition to receiving tips on making good sushi rice.
Hitomi has come to rely on the two machines for her sushi operation. A recent problem with the ASM720 machine could not be resolved even by referring to the owner’s manual. On contacting Melvin, she received an email detailing the process to fix the problem. She was able to get the machine running again in no time.
Hitomi’s shop has been doing well in Atherton and she confidently goes about her business in the knowledge that she has Melvin’s continued support.
